Any candidate applying for SBI PO must fulfill the eligibility criteria which includes fulfillment of Age Limit, Nationality, and Educational Qualification.
SBI PO Age Limit
The minimum age limit for a candidate to apply for the SBI examination is 21 years old but not more than 30 years old at the time of registration. Besides this, there is age relaxation relevant to category wise candidates as per the government norms.

SBI PO Nationality
- The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
- A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
- A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

SBI PO 2020 Selection Process
The SBI PO Selection Procedure involves three phases: || Prelims | Main | Interview ||Each round holds equal importance and hence qualification in each round is important to enter into the next subsequent round until final selection.
Stage 1: SBI PO Prelims
- The SBI PO Prelims Exam is the first basic round for the candidates to test their general aptitude.
- SBI PO Prelims Exam is an online objective test of 1 hour.
- The Exam consists of 3 sections- English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude.
- A cut-off is set for each of the sections as well as an overall cut off marks.
- The candidate has to clear each section to be eligible to appear for the SBI PO Mains Exam.
Stage 2: SBI PO Mains
- The candidates who clear the SBI PO Pre will be eligible to appear for the SBI PO Mains Exam.
- The SBI PO Mains Exam comprises of Objective Test and Descriptive Test.
- The SBI PO Mains Exam is of 4 sections (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning & Computers, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness) which will be objective in nature.
- The descriptive test is of 50 marks and is conducted immediately after the objective test.
- The candidates have to clear each of the tests individually as per the cut-off set by the Bank.
Stage 3: SBI PO Interview
This is the last stage of the selection process. The candidates who have qualified the SBI Mains Exam will be called to appear for the Interview. This round holds the utmost importance in deciding the fate of the candidate with respect to the final selection. The marks obtained in the SBI Mains and Interview are used for the final selection fo the candidate as an SBI PO.

SBI PO Mains Marking Scheme
- The SBI PO Mains will be of 200 marks of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s)
- One (1) mark is awarded for every correct answer.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer in MCQ
- No marks is awarded nor deducted for any unattempted question.
- The descriptive paper will comprise of Letter writing and Essay writing.
- The Descriptive Test will be of 30 minutes duration.
SBI PO Interview
Candidates qualifying in the objective and descriptive test will be now finally called for a group exercise & interview. Qualification/ qualifying marks in the group exercise and interview is decided by the Bank. Aggregate marks will decide the qualification after which they will be arranged in descending order in each category.
SBI PO Final Scores
The preliminary exam of SBI PO or the Tier 1 is only considered for the selection or qualification into the mains(tier 2) exam. Candidates have to qualify both Prelims & Mains round. Phase 2 and the Interview round will be deciding the final selection.
The final merit list is prepared by converting the marks of Written Test and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100 for each category.

The candidates who submit their application forms online successfully will receive the SBI PO Admit Card. They will be eligible to appear for the online exam.
